Solar powered catamaran is entirely self-sufficient

Unveiled this month, the Aquanima 40 Eclipse from Azura Marine is fitted with solar panels and is entirely self-sufficient.

The 40 series comes in two kinds, the cheaper starting at $500,000 which comes as standard with four cabins, a stocked gallery and a dining room, all of which can be customised by the owner.

The Eclipse can cruise non-stop due to its solar panels which can store power for night-time sailing. It can reportedly run for over 100 nautical miles a day on solar power and is virtually noise free.
